INVOLVMENT OF HANDS AND GRIP POSITION IN LATS EXERCISES


Lats, sometimes called wings in the gym as conventional or beginner’s language, the lats plays an important role to create the width and of the body and to show up the audience that someone is pumping up and making struggle. The jet width of the lats really put pressure on the beginners in the gym as someone is really getting the profit of the struggle.

To get that jet-shaped wings or Lats in the upper back body, there are some information you need to know specially the beginners should update with a foundation knowledge to start with the targeted area and exercises. The hands position and narrow/wider grip plays an important role for someone to decide the targeted area of the lats while doing the designed workout for the lats or wings.



Hands Position:

The hands position in the lats or wings exercises decides whether you ant o hit the lower area of the lats or the upper ones. When you do pulls or rows with a wider grip that really emphasis on the upper area of the back means width of the back because the major portion of the back holds by the upper lats which creates the widths of the back. And for the lower area of the back we should use the narrow grip while doing the pulls and rows. Similarly there is significant role of the pulls and rows in the development of lats.


One more information for the hand position when doing rows I would like to share with you, that when you get your elbows gets closer to your body while doing rows, the lower area will be targeted and as far as you pull you elbows away from your body that your hand will be with the chest and elbows flatted (not close with the body), will hit the upper area of the back and somewhere on the traps also.

Pulls and Rows:

Pulls and rows also have the separate department in the sourcing of the back development, pulls are used to creat the width of the back like we do pull downs, pull ups with straight bar, T-bars and the neutral V-bars, further for the selection of upper and lower we would use the wider or narrow grip with pulls and similarly rows are used for the purpose of putting mass on the back and further for the upper and lower targets we would use the wider or narrow grip.
